This summer, we are on a mission to bring you the best places to eat from around the UK. When we decided to take a day trip to Brixham, we found it impossible to resist stopping by Crab Quay House Brixham for some of the freshest, tastiest fish we’ve ever tried!
Crab Quay House Brixham Review
We were seriously hungry after our walk around the harbour, so we ordered the amazing Fruits De Mer platter. When it arrived, it’s pretty safe to say that we were all a little bit speechless! This beautiful array of seafood presented on a two tier platter is to die for and is ideal for anyone who wants to try a little bit of every type of fish and to really sample the delights that Brixham has to offer.
A real taste of the South Coast, this dish includes salt and pepper seasoned calamari, grilled sardines, garlic rubbed tiger prawns, mussels Devonaire and Mariniere, beer battered local day boat fish goujons, skinny fries and home baked breads with marie rose sauce and garlic aioli. We also tried some of the freshest oysters we’ve ever tasted and an open crab sandwich. Yep, we really pigged out. We couldn’t even finish it all!
All of the food was absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. You could eat in a tranquil and private atmosphere on the deck overlooking the harbour and the staff were helpful, friendly and informative. They really knew their stuff where the food was concerned and we received some great recommendations.
We walked all of the way around the harbour afterwards and took in the beautiful sights that Brixham has to offer. If you haven’t been before, do go! It is one of the mist stunningly beautiful places in the English Riviera and a wonderful place to eat, drink and shop whilst taking in a feast of sights along the way!
