Walk in Style This January

We have been making the most of the amazing local areas for dog walks here in Somerset this January. As part of my New Years resolution I planned to get more fresh air every day, and to take my little walking buddy ‘Cookie’ our Welsh Collie out on some adventures!

So when Cotton Traders got in touch to suggest that I pick some top walking attire, how could I resist? Here are my top picks below.

Walking Boots

First up has to be a good pair of walking boots. These Hydroguard® technology boots are designed to keep your feet dry no matter what terrain you’re tackling, while boasting breathability, too! Tested to industry standards, these sleek faux nubuck leather walking shoes have waterproofing locked in, and if that wasn’t enough, the lightweight phylon soles are shock-absorbing, so you can rest assured that nothing will slow you down.

A pop of colour with a warm and cosy jumper

Winter walks don’t have to be dull and boring. This simple but stylish jumper adds a much needed pop of colour. In soft pure cotton and stylish stripes that look just as lovely with laidback jeans as they do with a denim skirt.

Waterproof and warm coats

This is one thing that you can’t be without on your January walks. From the countryside to city streets, this coat will leave you crossing your fingers for a cold snap! Inspired by the great outdoors, it has a pure cotton outer for comfort and a premium quality, and an irresistibly warm half-Sherpa, half-quilted lining to keep you as cosy as can be on even the coldest of days.

Comfy trousers

Try to keep warm by wearing insulated leggings or comfy jeans. Effortlessly stylish in a soft and stretchy fabric, these are a pull-on style with a concealed, fully elasticated waistband.

Find the best places to walk

Now all that you need to do is find the best places to walk! My favourite is to walk along the beautiful boat yard trail here in my small seaside town of Burnham-on-sea. The walk is all flat terrain and takes a long loop around some beautiful local sights.
