Stylish Monochrome Home Decor For 2020

Since we moved to our Victorian terrace house and began home improvements and renovations I have found that my style is naturally drawn towards monochrome home decor and minimalist pieces. Our collaboration with Farrow & Ball paints to create this dark and dramatic hallway using Farrow & Ball Railings paint shade was perfect to showcase this as guests enter our home!

This month I’ve been embracing my monochrome home decor love to the extreme and have found some fantastic ways to style the home for summer, without the need for bright and garish colours.

First up was the artwork. I have always headed straight to DESENIO when I needed wall art so I’m thrilled that they wanted to collaborate on this feature by sending a couple of pictures to help style the room! If you read all the way to the bottom you can snap up an exclusive discount code too!

I knew that I wanted some bold, dark and minimalist pieces of wall art to finish certain areas of my dining room and hallway perfectly. This Black and White Lines Poster fits the alcove perfectly and adds just the right amount of warmth without taking away from the rest of the monochrome home decor style.

We switched out all of the beige coloured cushions on the dining chair and replaced with these gorgeous dark and dramatic star cushions from Firefly Home. These are chunky, perfectly filled and comfortable. The crochet effect does a fantastic job of softening up the decor with a little texture whilst still creating that ‘wow’ factor as you glance in!

You could even place these in the hallway to immediately catch your visitors eye. We’ve placed them on our shoe storage bench to create the perfect little nook to sit and pop your shoes on in style! So versatile. Shop them online here.

Finishing off the room with some impressive statement pieces is really important to help the room feel less imposing and more welcoming. A good coffee table book and some accessories will do the trick! This gold Neom candle is actually from Christmas but still looks fantastic above the fireplace!

You all know by now that one of my favourite luxury brands is diptyque. Their products feature heavily in most of the decor in my rooms (the candles are just divine!) and their perfumes take pride of place on my vanity. Simply adding a stylish candle to your home decor can lift any area and immediately creates interest.

My two favourite diptyque candle scents for summer are ‘Vanille’ and ‘Roses’. Both throw off a powerful fragrance that even when left un-lit can scent your room perfectly. Pair them with a statement coffee table book like this HUGE Tom Ford edition and you have instantly styled an area in a few simple steps.

Everything about this book just screams luxury. The font size, the weight (believe me, you won’t be picking it up and carrying it around the house any time soon!) it’s an attention grabbing piece that can be styled in so many ways.

glass lamp

My style always leans towards that of a beach house in the Hamptons (a girl can dream!) and this lamp was everything I was looking for and more. Large, cool-toned and dramatic. The glass base creates the illusion of space no matter where it is placed.

bloom magic

Bring a little colour into the room with delicate muted tones like these Bloom Magic flowers that we featured a while ago. They pair perfectly with monochrome home decor and can really lift the whole room without ruining the simplistic style.
