Sharland & Lewis Home: Reclaimed Boat Furniture

Sharland & Lewis Home has just had a consignment delivered of some wonderful reclaimed boat garden furniture made from recycled teak found on a sourcing trip in Bali and we’re loving these pieces, which are especially perfect for our current warm-weather heatwave here in the UK.

The furniture falls into two categories – firstly, chairs and benches with a retro edge echoing 1960s style made entirely from teak and, secondly, chairs and benches in old colonial frames revamped with teak slats from a reclaimed boat which had reached the end of their seafaring life.

Sharland & Lewis Home has also sourced some lovely wire kitchen stands in original paint, which fit well with the current desire for small, industrial pieces.

Bali Retro Aqua

Bali is one of the most beautiful islands in the world where recycling is a way of life which has allowed its people to retain their island’s heritage. The reclaimed retro edged teak style are low and ergonomic, smooth to the touch with rounded edges, extremely comfortable and lend themselves to lingering with a drink or book. They are available in two colourways – subtly distressed aqua or ocean, or in natural teak. The colonial chairs and benches have 1930s Parisian café overtones and are available in plain teak with metal frames in original paint. They are available in natural teak, or in ocean weathered paint. Cushions to fit, upholstered in a variety of vintage textiles, are available separately.
