My daughter recently celebrated her 18th birthday and COVID-19 restrictions meant that like so many, we had to find a creative way to celebrate in lockdown. We decided that one way to make her day extra special was to plan the ultimate birthday brunch for our family. This was only for our own household and as much as we would have loved to celebrate with wider family, we are looking forward to recreating it all over again when restrictions lift.

I love designing a good table-scape, so when PartyPieces.co.uk offered to provide some table décor, balloons and accessories I couldn’t wait to get styling! The theme was ‘birthday brunch’ so I wanted to ensure that the table looked great, whilst having enough room for plenty of family style dining.
We opted for platters of cooked breakfast, pastries and fruit. The gorgeous rose gold table runner from Party Pieces made the perfect focal point and these fantastic freestanding 18 signs with golden sparkles finished everything off to perfection!
This faux foliage and white roses garland from Party Pieces was placed throughout the centre of the table but you could also drape this over your mantelpiece for a stunning effect!
We used oversized gold 18 balloons and some balloon kits to stage an amazing photo wall so that we could get some lovely images of the birthday girl. She was so overwhelmed to walk into the room and see everything set up so beautifully!
You can even purchase the helium at the same time as making your order so it really is perfect for anyone planning at home events.
For the amazing birthday cake we used a local cake maker Dusicake who kindly worked with us to create some amazing cupcakes with a Studio Ghibli theme and a jaw dropping gothic ‘galaxy cake’ which we then placed the 18 cake topper from partypieces on to finish off the whole look!
I think you’ll agree that the décor and the cakes looked absolutely amazing and this has definitely made me want to style and host more events in our home now that I know it can be done to such a high standard.
