Beauty News: Sarah-Jane Crawford launches Bold Is Beautiful

V & Radio presenter, Sarah-Jane Crawford, launches the Bold Is Beautiful Project in support of women’s charities, Look Good Feel Better and Refuge

Benefit Cosmetics, embarks on its boldest move yet by launching its first global philanthropy program: The Bold Is Beautiful Project. The initiative, designed to raise vital funds and awareness for charities supporting women and girls, will partner with Look Good Feel Better and Refuge within the UK.

Throughout the month of May, Benefit has pledged to donate one hundred percent of its profits from its brow wax services to Look Good Feel Better, who help women and teenagers combat the visible side effects of cancer treatment, and Refuge which supports women and children escaping domestic violence. In addition, any customer who purchases a brow wax service during the month will receive a complimentary full size Gimme Brow (worth £18.50).

Supporting the campaign is TV and radio presenter, Sarah-Jane Crawford who will be raising awareness for the initiative by encouraging women of all ages to rally together and join her on a fundraising march through the streets of central London on Sunday 10th May.

The 3.7 mile march, starting and finishing in Cavendish Square, will take walkers past some of London’s most iconic attractions including Marble Arch, Wellington Arch and Piccadilly Circus. As well as taking in the historical sights, participants will be encouraged to start with minimal makeup, stopping at checkpoints throughout the route to receive beauty ‘touch-ups’ to their skin, lips, eyes, and of course, eyebrows, courtesy of Benefit Cosmetics.

Beyond looking good and feeling good, is doing good – a sentiment felt strongly by campaign ambassador Sarah-Jane Crawford. Speaking about the initiative she said, “Empowering women to have big dreams and to take bold moves is something I passionately believe in!”

“Both Look Good Feel Better and Refuge undertake such incredible work within the UK. The charities support women experiencing very different challenges; however their goal to help them regain a sense of self and wellbeing is ultimately the same. I’m humbled to be a part of this campaign and to meet the wonderful women who have overcome adversity. I’ll be leading the march on Sunday 10th May and encourage you all to join me. It’s so easy, just go to www.boldisbeautiful.com to register. Come on, be BOLD, take part and make a difference!”

As the only international cancer support charity, Look Good Feel Better’s skincare and make-up Workshops and Masterclasses focus on the problems associated with the visible side effects of cancer treatment and how hard the loss of hair, eyebrows, eyelashes and other skin related issues can be to cope with.

Charity partner Refuge is committed to a world where domestic violence is not tolerated and where women and children can live in safety. It aims to empower them to rebuild their lives, free from violence and fear, providing a range of life-saving and life-changing services.

Benefit Cosmetics Managing Directors, Ian Marshall & Gail Bojarski explain:

“Brows have the ability to completely transform someone’s appearance. They frame your face, draw attention to your eyes, and can even take years off your look. Taking the proceeds from a service that creates such a remarkable change on the surface and donating them to charities that ignite a deeper change in the lives of women is the easiest way to look good and feel good doing it.”

They continue: “Benefit has a rich history cemented in a “feel-good” approach to beauty and 2015 will be no exception. Together with Look Good Feel Better and Refuge, we’ve united to propel Bold Is Beautiful into the community and make a noticeable difference to women and girls lives across the UK.”

A dedicated website (www.boldisbeautiful.com) will be live from 1st April and provides all the information on Bold Is Beautiful and how to get involved including registering to take part in the campaign.
