The limited 5 week engagement of Wicked At The Bristol Hippodrome runs until Saturday 21 March with best ticket availability currently at Monday to Wednesday performances and at the two additional matinees on Thursday 5 March at 2:30pm and Thursday 19 March 2:30pm.
The spectacular, critically acclaimed, multi record-breaking UK & Ireland Tour has sold over 1 million tickets since its premiere in 2013 at the Palace Theatre in Manchester and played over 500 performances.
I have been wanting to watch Wicked for years. So much so that it is actually on my bucket list. We recently went to see it at the Bristol Hippodrome (one of my favourite theatres) and I can confirm that it is every bit as amazing as I’d hoped. The cast were amazing and the songs are stunning enough to give you chills.
Wicked stars Ashleigh Gray (Elphaba), Emily Tierney (Glinda), Samuel Edwards (Fiyero), Marilyn Cutts (Madame Morrible), Steven Pinder (The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond), Carina Gillespie (Nessarose), Richard Vincent (Boq) and Jacqueline Hughes (Standby for Elphaba).
Recently acclaimed as “one of the greatest musicals of our time” (Daily Mail) and “the hugely clever, insanely popular riff on the witches from The Wizard of Oz” (The Times), this “big-hearted musical extravaganza about the land of Oz” (Time Out London) is now the 10th longest-running show in the West End, where it continues its open ended run. The London production has now been seen by more than
6 million people and recently played its landmark 3500th performance.
Around the world, Wicked has been seen by 45 million people in 13 countries and won 100 international awards. The original Broadway production remains “Broadway’s biggest blockbuster” (The New York Times) after more than 11 years at the Gershwin Theatre.
Wicked has music and lyrics by multi GRAMMY® and Academy Award® winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, musical staging by Wayne Cilento and is directed by two-time Tony Award® winner and Olivier Award nominee Joe Mantello. Wicked is based on the novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire.
Wicked is produced by: Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and
David Stone. Executive Producer (UK): Michael McCabe.
