Calm and Protect Your Skin This Spring with Two Amazing New Kiehl’s Products

I’ve been taking my skincare pretty seriously over the past few months and am really enjoying trying new products that will protect my skin and help it look its best. Being fair skinned means that as soon as there is any slight hint of sunshine then I need to up my SPF game and ensure my skin doesn’t burn. So, when Kiehl’s announced that they were releasing some new products that seemed like the perfect fit for me, I jumped at the chance to review.

One of the first things that I couldn’t wait to try was the new Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate – a lightweight, non-comedogenic calmative oil that helps to improve the appearance of skin prone to imperfections, such as visible redness and discomfort.

The formula with 100% naturally-derived ingredients including Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and Green Oregano Oil, helps balance hydration and relieve the feeling of stressed skin.

“In the 1800’s, Kiehl’s was an apothecary known for sourcing the finest natural ingredients, which were combined with advanced science to create our uniquely efficacious formulations. Today we continue to be inspired by the research we conducted on botanicals, herbs and extracts, and the expertise we developed in maximizing their beneficial qualities. We believe in the power of natural ingredients and still use many that we first discovered through our experiences as a homeopathic pharmacy.” – shares Cammie Cannella, Head of Education for Kiehl’s.

After using the Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate for a few weeks, I can safely say it is now on my list as one of my ‘go-to’ facial oils. As someone who suffers from redness and irritation my skin feels calmer and more hydrated than ever. I love using this in the evenings before bed!

Highly recommended for anyone wanting to keep their skin in tip-top condition as we move towards the summer months. Available exclusively to Selfridges & Kiehl’s flagship stores (Leeds, Monmouth Street and Glasgow)

The second product I’ve been trying out from Kiehl’s is the Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Aqua Gel SPF 50. As someone who needs a high SPF facial protection on a daily basis (something we should definitely all be thinking about) this has been an absolute godsend for me lately. As a long-time advocate in the use of a daily sunscreen, Kiehl’s sun protection portfolio incorporates products that not only help defend from harmful UVA/UVB rays and oxidation, but also help defend against other environmental pollutants.

Suitable for humid conditions, the new formula has the capacity to help protect the skin barrier from pollution and UVA-induced oxidation helping to prevent first signs of ageing. In addition to providing UV protection, the formula leaves skin looking shine-free.

The new sunscreen is recommended for normal to oily skin types. I have normal-dry skin and I find it works perfectly for me. It is never sticky and always feels lightweight. Makeup glides on perfectly over the top too!

This lightweight formula employs a blend of sunscreen filters and pollution-protecting technology that extends protection beyond UVA and UVB rays. Combined with the antioxidant power of Vitamin E, the formula keeps skin hydrated. It is also unscented and non-comedogenic.

Kiehl’s pollution-protection technology helps neutralize free radicals and prevents environmental pollution from being absorbed into skin. Particulate matter’s small size allows penetration into skin’s pores, causing direct free radical damage. These pollutants can cause oxidative-stress, inflammation and even accelerated skin aging, such as dryness, skin darkening and dullness. Kiehl’s formula forms a protective barrier on the surface of skin, helping to prevent oxidative-stress caused by environmental aggressors.

Naturally occurring in skin, Vitamin E, an ingredient in the formula, is known to help neutralize skin damaging free radicals. In addition to antioxidant protection, Vitamin E is often used in moisturizing skincare products.

Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Aqua Gel (30ml) is priced at £28 and available nationwide now!
