2018 beauty favourites

As we get ready for a year of exciting new product launches and exciting releases for 2019, it’s time to take a look back at some of the beauty products that I’ve been obsessed with in 2018. Let me know in the comments or on Instagram what your favourites have been!

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer

The Benefit Boi-ing concealer was one of the products I included in my Benefit makeup review earlier in the year and it has been part of my everyday makeup routine ever since. As I have already mentioned a few times, I’ve fallen back in love with Benefit lately thanks to some truly amazing releases from the brand that are beautifully packaged and (in my opinion) aimed at a slightly more mature audience than some of their previous products which is great. The Boi-ing concealer is a firm favourite of mine all year round as it is so easy to work with and blends like an absolute dream! You can apply this with your fingertips or with a brush and it’s totally foolproof. Link to buy.

Nars Antares Dual Intensity Eyeshadow ‘CALLISTO’

I wear this eyeshadow any time I want to create a really high-intensity, bold eyeshadow without going for the classic smoky eye. This light and metallic effect eyeshadow in the shade ‘Callisto’ is easy to work with (I find using my fingertips to apply onto primed eyelids gives the best effect) and it lasts all day or night with barely any fallout or fading. This shade is beyond stunning. It catches the light and creates a wonderfully celestial shimmer without being packed full of chunky glitter. If you are looking for high-quality and maximum colour payoff then this is a must try! Link to buy.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

I first discovered this during the summer and was drawn to the fact that it contains a great SPF. The IT cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ is perfect for those days when you don’t need seriously high coverage. I love to apply this onto the back of my hand and then use a foundation brush to sweep it all over my face and neck. It never makes the skin look ‘flat’ or dull and creates a beautifully natural dewy finish. Definitely one to keep on standby for any time of the year! Link to buy.

Urban Decay Troublemaker

Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara

The internet went crazy when the Urban Decay troublemaker mascara first launched. With its dramatic, oil slick packaging and distinctive wand it has been one of the mascaras I’ve found myself reaching for most this year. Offering the perfect mix of length and definition to the lashes, it’s a total no-brainer when it comes to keeping this in your makeup bag. One of my favourite beauty products to reach for during 2018! Link to buy.

Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl Eyeliner ‘Barbarella Brown’

Charlotte Tilbury is a beauty brand that I definitely need to explore more this year. The queen of makeup herself has an amazing outlook to product creation and a commitment to making beauty easy to apply as well as being a real treat to the skin. Having searched for the perfect eyeliner for so long, I’ve finally found it in the form of the revolutionary ‘Barbarella Brown’ Rock N’ Kohl. This is so stunning for everyday wear when you want to define your eyes without going over the top. It blends like a dream and won’t fade or smudge once you’ve got your look just right! Link to buy.

Illamasqua Daze

Illamasqua Beyond Powder Highlighter ‘Daze’

Oh my goodness. Where can I start with this highlighter? It is perfect for those who like a cool toned pearlescent shine and a slightly ‘frosted’ look to their skin. This lightweight, silky highlighter creates a gorgeous finish that is unlike anything else I’ve tried. So flattering and perfect for the winter months. Find more here: www.illamasqua.com

Soap & Glory Lid Stuff

Soap & Glory are really pushing the boat out when it comes to makeup lately. We all know that they do bath products incredibly well, but their makeup is now just as ‘cult status’ too! One thing Soap & Glory always impress me with is a good eyeshadow palette. This one is called ‘Lid Stuff’ and contains a gorgeous mix of nude tones that are perfect for popping into your handbag or taking on your travels thanks to the pocket sized packaging. Wonderfully blendable and great to create a quick and easy makeup look on a budget! Find this and more at boots.com

Butter London ‘Yummy Mummy’ Nail Polish

I absolutely love a good nude nail polish and Butter London have come up with something that had me reaching for it time and time again. The ‘Yummy Mummy’ nail polish is that perfect balance between being nude toned with a mauve undertone and it is so flattering! The formula is easy to apply and will dry in just a few minutes. Whilst it might not be the longest lasting nail polish in my collection, it’s definitely the one I reach for time and time again. Link to buy.
