Healthy Juices For Spring | Making Delicious Breakfast Juices At Home

As we make our way into spring and the warmer weather begins to (hopefully!) arrive, everyone is in need of a little boost. This month I’ve been trying out making my own juices at home and I wanted to share some of my experiences with you below!

With a lot of stores and businesses having been closed down for the past year due to COVID, we’ve all been looking for ways to get more creative from the comfort of our own home. This has ranged from finally taking on those home décor projects we’ve been meaning to get around to, to getting more hands-on in the kitchen and making more of our meals from scratch. As part of this I really wanted to try juicing my own fruit and veg to make healthy, vitamin filled drinks to accompany my breakfast each morning.

healthy juices

After looking around at various juicing options I decided to go for a mid-range juicer with fantastic reviews. This Sage Juicer seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I’ve played around with some amazing recipes for healthy juices and here are a couple of my favourites.

This lemon and ginger shot is easy to make and perfect as a ‘quick fix’ to get your body kickstarted in the mornings. You can find the full recipe here and juicing the lemons would be so much easier in the Sage Juicer.

You could also make this in large batches to store for a few days rather than having to make it fresh every morning. Perfect for families on the go! If you are looking for a really quick, citrus juice with one heck of a kick then this is for you!

juice

When it comes to my favourite breakfast juice, it has to be a classic green juice. The Sage juicer is perfect for extracting the juice from celery, apples, cucumber, cabbage, ginger and so much more! The only thing I have found that doesn’t work so well in the juicer is kale. It’s doable though if you add it with other ingredients.

This green juice recipe takes ‘wonder foods’ from the sirtfood diet and manages to be tasty and healthy at the same time. It gives you the perfect start to the day. You will simply need to juice the below ingredients:

1 handful of kale

1 handful of rocket

2 handfuls of

blackcurrants

½ handful of water cress

3-4 sprigs of parsley

½ a lemon or lime

175ml water

Pop it into the fantastic jug that comes with this juicer and you can store it in the fridge for a few days and grab some each morning. The juicer itself is easy to use and an absolute breeze to clean. It is a little on the noisy side (like most juicers) so you shouldn’t expect a totally silent piece of tech, but it delivers amazing results on everything we’ve tried juicing so far.

I can’t wait to keep experimenting with new juices and I’ll put together a summer juices post soon. Follow us over on Instagram @lifestylelinked for regular IG stories as we try out tasty new juices and show you the results!
