World Whisky Day is fast approaching, so the lovely folk over at Tullamore D.E.W have very kindly sent us over a delivery to help us make the most of the big day! This annual celebration of the unique craft and flavours of the whisky world is all about making whisky fun, enjoyable and more inclusive. We’re totally on-board with that concept!
When is World Whisky Day 2018?
World whisky day is on May 19th and is perfectly timed for a fun, relaxing weekend of celebration. What could be better than an evening BBQ with friends and family, raising a glass over the flickering lights of a bonfire? It’s a shame my garden is patio sized and not exactly spacious…. but a girl can dream!
Why is Tullamore D.E.W suited to a brew?
Tullamore D.E.W is all about reinvigorating the Irish custom of sipping a beer and a whisky side by side. This is the perfect way to unlock the complimentary flavours in each with a new serve D.E.W. & A Brew. I hadn’t even heard of pairing whisky and beer before so this was all news to me, but I’ve really enjoyed it and what an amazing evening you could create with a few friends and your own tasting station of beers and whisky?! It would also be an amazing idea for Father’s day!
There’s actually a special link between Tullamore D.E.W. and one of the amazing craft beers we’ve been trying from Innis & Gunn. These two pioneers of craft brewing and distilling have collaborated for the first time to create ‘Kindred Spirits’ a limited edition Scottish stout. Using a unique barrel ageing process developed by the brewing team at Innis and Gunn, Kindred Spirits is matured using the finest triple distilled triple blend Irish whisky barrels from Tullamore D.E.W. to create a smooth and delicious Scottish stout.
