Perfumes are a very personal thing. I’ve been searching for my perfect winter scent for a while now and nothing seemed to be quite right, so when the new My Burberry Black Perfume landed on my desk I was instantly excited. You see, the original ‘My Burberry’ scent is one of my all time favourite perfumes. It is floral, fresh and captivating. However, I’ve always thought that if it was a bit darker, sexier somehow it might just be perfect. This is where the My Burberry Black perfume comes in and blows everything else out of the water….

An intense and sensual reinterpretation by renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and Christopher Bailey, My Burberry Black travels back to a London garden amidst a gathering storm; heavy rain contrasting with the warm and captivating flora.
My Burberry Black is my idea of perfection in a bottle. The description above is absolutely spot on. There is something darker, deeper and more sensual about this perfume compared to its predecessor. There’s a stormy feel to it, like the smell that you get in the air after an almighty rainstorm. Given that Petrichor is one of my all time favourite smells, it’s hardly surprising that I’ve fallen head over heels with the new My Burberry Black fragrance.
The fragrance fuses the scent of sun-drenched jasmine flower and peach nectar with a touch of rose. This signature rose note at the heart of My Burberry is given a sweet and inviting candied twist, while rich amber patchouli rounds off the scent for a deep and captivating finish.
This clever scent somehow manages to be warm, sensual and captivating whilst having a slightly masculine finish. This works so well and is a pleasant alternative to the heavy, sometimes sickly sweet winter fragrances that are released during the winter months. I would happily wear My Burberry Black perfume all year round though and there’s no doubt that it has now become a firm favourite in my luxury fragrance collection.
