Laïa Paris – Hidden away in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, Laïa is an address conducive to disconnection, created to make you travel away from Paris for a moment. If you are based in Paris or are in the city for Mother’s day then why not take a look?
This establishment is located in a former distillery of the district, at the bottom of a garden, and holds its vegetable garden on the roofs. Each recipe cooked in Laïa’s kitchens is made with seasonable herbs, aromates and vegetables coming from a 200 m² collaborative vegetable garden. Chief Marco Bernado offers a cosmopolitan kitchen, influenced by the South of France, Spain and Italy. Originally from Naples, his talent is to take you on a culinary journey!
Hidden at the back of walkway, Laïa offers you the warm atmosphere of the South, with the light and Iberian decor of the decorator Alexandre Neimann. A chic country air with marbled and vegetal finishes. At Laïa, you can come at any time. From breakfast time, for the morning organic egg and freshly squeezed fruit juice. For lunch, after which they play tea rooms, but also organize their famous Aperitivo and dinners… and that, every night of the week! There is also a take-away service for those in a hurry : the take-away sale.
And for this beautiful place, we would like to thank Pierre Doublet and Quentin Garreau de Labarre, two childhood friends with an overflowing imagination and obvious complementarity skill combined to create this great adventure that is Laïa. Together, they conceived a global project of culinary and art of living addresses inviting to disconnection summarized in 5 words: “Travel away from Paris in Paris”. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, continuous from breakfast to diner. 226 BLVD. VOLTAIRE PARIS • 75011 www.laia-restaurant.com

The new Female Inspired Spring Afternoon Tea at Conrad London St. James is bursting with colours that celebrate the flavours and scents of springtime. The Afternoon Tea has been created by Executive Pastry Chef Diana Sedlakova, who elegantly blended the tradition of classic afternoon tea with contemporary flavours and techniques. With the launch of this new tea, the infamous Free-Flowing Champagne Afternoon Tea will return to Emmeline’s Lounge.
Inspired by the distinctive characters of the Little Women book, the cake display includes four individual treats which represent the flavours of each pastry. Guests can look forward to indulge in the Raspberry Macaroon with Ruby Chocolate Ganache based on the books’ responsible, classy and romantic character ‘Margaret (Meg)’. The Jasmine Tea Roulade with Chantilly Cream and Mango Compote represents the more fragile and kind character ‘Elizabeth (Beth)’ while the Coco & Caramelised Hazelnut Tart with Espresso Infused Cream is based on the youngest sister ‘Amy’, the vain and sometimes selfish character. Lastly, ‘Josephine (Jo)’ the adventurous and rebellious character is translated to the Dark Honey Opera Cake with Candy Ginger and Meyer Lemon.
Those visiting Emmeline’s Lounge on Mother’s Day, 22nd March, will enjoy the suitably themed Afternoon Tea and receive a special gift to take home making it a truly memorable and celebratory experience. Mother’s Day Afternoon including a glass of Rose champagne or cocktail is £45 per person. Nightly rates at Conrad London St. James start from £317 on a room only basis.
