We all know that hot brushes have been done before, but this somehow feels different. As with all ghd products, it is luxurious, feels lovely to hold and isn’t overly bulky. The ceramic technology with ioniser heats the brush uniformly to the optimum 185C styling temperature for guaranteed healthier looking hair without any fuss.
The ioniser restores balance back in the hair to eliminate frizz so that hair is perfectly smooth and glossy. The combination of high density shorter bristles and longer bristles allow large sections to be styled and leaves salon smooth natural movement. Whilst it does take a bit of getting used to, when you get the hang of using it, the ghd glide is an absolute breeze.
I have tried the ghd glide out on my own hair and on my daughters hair. One thing I noticed on my own hair is that it works surprisingly well when you’ve already popped your hair up into a ponytail for the day but need to quickly straighten a few wispy bits. Sometimes I find that when you try doing this with a straightener it leaves the hair a little too straight and almost takes the movement out of it, leaving it limp and lifeless. The hot brush manages to keep the hair looking voluminous but still straightens those pesky flyaways out like a dream!
On my teenage daughters long and naturally wavy hair the ghd glide gave a sleek and straight look. I absolutely love the results that this hot brush gives. You may not always end up with quite as precise and ‘poker straight’ style as you would with your straighteners, but this isn’t really the aim here. Second day hair is where this really shines. Your hair looks perfectly ‘finished’ with the same body and movement that you’d expect after a salon blow-dry.
One technique I have found works really well is to hold the hair quite taut and work through sections at a time if you want a sleek and smooth finish. If you prefer a more natural look then simply run the hot brush through your hair as if you were using a regular brush.
I am already a huge fan of ghd products and I adore my straighteners and paddle brush pictured above. I use them daily as my hair is so frizzy and flyaway! The ghd glide doesn’t need to be a replacement for your straighteners. Instead it is a fantastic way to smooth and tame second day hair. This is a total game changer when it comes to taming those overnight hair kinks and adding the finishing touches to your fringe. Now with ghd glide – second day styling has never been so effortless!
