When it comes to occasion dresses Simply Be have got some gorgeous styles that would look great, no matter what your personal style and tastes. Here are three of the different dress types that I’m leaning more towards this festive season.

Christmas party dresses

Bardot fishtail dresses – if you are looking for a dress that would work perfectly for an evening event then you can’t go wrong with a gorgeous maxi dress or something long and fitted. You could opt for something simple and chic in a flattering, festive plum tone or go all out and choose a bold and bright floral pattern. Navy blue is a beautiful colour for anyone who doesn’t want to opt for the standard ‘little black dress’ but still wants to make a statement with a modern twist. A fishtail hem is flattering, dramatic and perfect for those Christmas parties!

Christmas party dresses

Flattering midi dresses – shorter dresses with lace detail and floaty sleeves are a great way to make the perfect statement whilst still hiding any of those areas that you may be self-conscious about. My personal preference is a dress with little sleeve details that gently cover my upper arms. The finished look is so flattering. Lace doesn’t have to be just for summer dresses either, it works really well to add some texture and detail to any outfit, no matter what the season.

Christmas party dresses

Dramatic velvet dresses – if you can’t wear velvet at Christmas then when can you?! The festive season is definitely the perfect excuse to play around with new and exciting colours and fabrics. Velvet dresses are dramatic and feminine. If you choose the right shape and style to suit your body type then they can be a real show-stopper! Why not pair a gorgeous long and floaty velvet dress with a pair of killer boots with a chunky heel? This gives your whole look a modern edge and the chunkier heel is far more manageable to dance the night away in than stilettos!

Pair any of your finished outfits with a delicate clutch bag and some understated jewellery and you have the perfect look for any of your events this party season! Let us know in the comments how you’ve been styling up your outfits this December or tag us on Instagram so that we can take a peek!
