The Italian home-grown gin, Villa Ascenti, and fresh artisanal pasta specialists, Pasta Evangelists, invite you to enjoy the early May Bank holiday with a limited edition ‘Taste of Piedmont’ box. This unique box, which can be delivered through your letterbox, has been inspired by the traditional Italian aperitivo occasion, and includes everything you need to recreate this cultural ritual, at home.

The Taste of Piedmont box includes all the ingredients required to create an authentic Mafalde, with Truffle Butter and toasted Piedmont Hazelnuts, as well as a complimentary letterbox proportioned 50ml bottle of Villa Ascenti Gin, distilled using home-grown herbs and botanicals from the Piedmont region. Complete with a recipe card, recipients can craft their very own traditional aperitivo cocktail, to be enjoyed in true Italian fashion – ahead of their evening meal.

The chefs at Pasta Evangelists and Villa Ascenti’s distillers have centred this partnership around bringing people together in spirit, even though they are apart, through a passion for Italian heritage and sharing the tastes of Piedmont, Italy.

For more inspiration, Villa Ascenti Brand Ambassador and gin mastermind, Christie Knight, will be hosting a virtual Italian aperitivo cocktail masterclass, offering unique recipes and top tips for those for those who are keen to curate their own aperitivo hour from home, again and again. The workshop will go live on Instagram at 5pm on Saturday, 9th May.

Villa Ascenti Brand Ambassador, Christie Knight, said: “Faced with an unusual amount of time at home, we wanted to inspire people to enjoy this special Italian aperitivo tradition during the early evening. This partnership is the perfect way to do this, so people can celebrate this cultural moment with authentic Italian pasta and a home-grown, Italian gin, made from locally sourced signature ingredients from the hills of Piedmont.”

Head Chef at Pasta Evangelists, Roberta d’Elia, said: “We chose to pair seasonal black summer tartufi (truffles) with toasted nocciole (hazelnuts), two local ingredients native to Alba, a beautiful mountain town in Italy’s northwestern Piedmont region. The provenance of the ingredients is at the heart of this bank holiday offering, reflecting some of Italy’s most prized and decadent flavours.”
