Simba Mattress Review

Simba Mattress Review – I had been meaning to update the mattress on our double bed for quite some time now. Suffering from autoimmune diseases means that I’m often in a lot of pain by the end of the day and our current mattress just wasn’t cutting the mustard. So when the lovely folk over at Simba got in touch and asked if we’d like to review and feature one, I obviously jumped at the opportunity.

We had been looking at getting a memory foam mattress for a while now, but a few things were putting us off. Firstly was the cost of investing in one when we just weren’t sure if it would be right for us. Memory foam mattresses aren’t exactly cheap! Secondly, we’d heard that they can smell quite badly of a chemical scent when you first use them and thirdly, that they were rumoured to be quite hot to sleep on.

Our Simba mattress arrived rolled up in a box. Our hallways in this house aren’t particularly spacious and we had no problems getting it inside due to how compact everything is wrapped and boxed. When you open the box, you take out the mattress which is rolled and vacuum packed. Open this up and the mattress expands. Leave it for a few hours or overnight and it is soon perfectly formed and ready to use!

Our first night sleeping on our new mattress was quite honestly AMAZING. Firstly, there was absolutely no strange chemical smell from the mattress at all (not that we could smell anyway!) and secondly it is so soft that you feel like you are actually sleeping on a cloud. Granted, this was such a change from our old mattress that we were just super happy to be sleeping on something so luxurious – but none the less – this was pure bliss.

I usually have quite a disrupted sleep as my health problems also mean that I’m prone to bouts of insomnia or irregular sleeping patterns, but I slept really well and drifted off with no problem at all. Whilst I wouldn’t say that the temperature was overly hot throughout the night, I have noticed that I do sleep a little warmer though since having this mattress – so this might be something to consider. Personally I would rather have lighter bedding and the comfort of my Simba mattress any day though! I am absolutely blown away by how much difference it makes to the comfort and quality of my sleep.

More about Simba

Cleverly rolled and perfectly packed in its box; the Simba Hybrid® is the ideal bed. Simba’s pioneering online “bed in a box” concept allows your mattress – ingeniously rolled up and boxed – to be delivered to your door the next day. No more awkward maneuvers in the hallway or navigating the stairs – perfect for homes with awkward access. Simba are so confident in their product that they are also offering a 100-night no hassle return service.

Designed to support a hippo on one side and a mouse on the other the Simba Hybrid offers the comfort of five luxurious layers of memory foam with the support of 2,500 patented conical pocket springs.

The springs adjust under each person’s bodyweight because they’re conical, rather than the normal barrel shape. They don’t compress in a linear way: the more pressure applied, the more resistance the springs give, so everyone gets the right amount of support for them.

Order online by 2.00pm and a Simba can be with you the next day. No more awkward manoeuvres in the hallway and the perfect present can be boxed to fit neatly under (or next to) the tree.

Simba Sleep comes in eleven sizes – including single £399, small double or double £599, king £699 and super king size £799. Each mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial promise and a 10 year guarantee. Available from www.simbasleep.com and select John Lewis stores nationally (www.johnlewis.co.uk)

Simba has also partnered with homelessness charity Crisis and will give 5% of the profits from all mattress sales online at simbasleep.com during November and December this year!
