Forever Max by Kerry Irving
Forever Max tells the heartwarming final chapter in the life of Max the Miracle Dog – a spaniel who won not just the hearts of the nation, but hundreds of thousands across the globe. Shortly after a traumatic car accident that left Kerry struggling mentally and physically, he met Max, a Springer Spaniel who changed his life.
Kerry began documenting the duo’s adventures in the Lake District on their hugely successful Facebook page, and Max quickly attained worldwide fame. The duo’s content provided joy to hundreds of thousands, and the pair organised regular charity walks to help others through their darkest days; over half a million pounds was raised in Max’s name. In 2021 Max was the first pet to receive the PDSA Order of Merit (‘animal OBE’), he counted royals William and Kate amongst his fans, and he had a statue erected in his hometown of Keswick. The duos journey attracted non-stop media attention – Max’s life was truly well lived.
Sadly, Max passed away in April 2022, and Forever Max sees Kerry and his trusted companion take on their final adventures around the Lake District, from providing joy to those stuck inside through lockdown – when their platform rocketed – to adjusting to Max’s twilight years, helped along every step of the way by fellow spaniels Paddy and Harry.
