Urban Decay Born to Run Palette Review, Swatches and First Impression

Urban Decay born to run

The new Urban Decay Born to Run palette is causing a bit of a stir on the beauty scene right now. When it arrived to my P.O box I was extremely excited to play around with this one and see what the colours were like as it seems absolutely perfect for summer wear. Keep reading below for my first impressions and some swatches!

Urban Decay Born To Run palette – The Packaging

First up, let’s talk about the packaging on the new Urban Decay ‘Born to Run’ palette. I’ll be completely honest here as always and say that when I first saw a peek at the packaging online (before getting hold of the palette for myself) I wasn’t a fan of the packaging at all. It looked flimsy and dare I say…. cheap? Now when any of us think of Urban Decay palettes that’s not what we expect is it? Luckily, when the palette arrived my opinion totally changed as in the flesh this is absolutely stunning!

The palette itself is heavy, sturdy and well made. It is covered in gorgeous travel inspired photographs and the whole thing just screams summer holidays! Once open, you’ll be pleased to know there’s a huge mirror too. There’s no brush included with this one but that’s not an issue for me at all as I love to switch and swap out my eyeshadow brushes all the time.

What Shades are inside the Urban Decay Born to Run palette?

So, let’s talk shades. This palette is seriously impressive and possibly one of the most versatile releases from Urban Decay to date. With the perfect mix of matte and shimmer eyeshadows, you could take this with you on your travels and have something on hand for every occasion. The first colours that stood out to me were ‘BIG SKY’ ‘DRIFT’ and ‘WANDERLUST’ as I know I’ll get so much wear out of these three in particular.

If you’re in the mood for brights, then BAJA, HELLRIDE and WILDHEART are the ones to go for. There are also some beautiful burnt copper and golden tones that would look great with a tan.

Doin’ it for the tired gals out there! Was gonna attempt to cover these under eye bags a little more before posting but you know what, let’s keep it super real. When you suffer from Chronic fatigue that’s just daily life. I absolutely LOVE this new @urbandecaycosmetics ‘Born to Run’ palette that the team kindly sent my way this week. The shade Big Sky is a beautiful shimmery aqua tone that’s easy to blend and build up. What about the formula?

The formula of the eyeshadows in Urban Decays Born to Run palette is nothing short of perfection. I honestly can’t fault it when it comes to blendability or buildability. I love that you can really build the colour up on each shade, allowing you to keep things subtle or take it to the next level.

all nighter urban decay

My favourite way to get the ultimate colour payoff from Urban Decay eyeshadows is to spray a little bit of the Urban Decay ‘All Nighter’ setting spray onto the brush first to wet it slightly and POW! Instantly intense colour. The All Nighter setting spray is just a holy grail beauty product in general to be honest so definitely get your hands on this when you pick up the palette.
