Little Moons, an artisan producer of mochi ice cream, is launching a pop-up bar at London Selfridges from 17th July to 10th September, giving ice cream lovers the chance to try three exclusive new flavours, including the UK’s first Black Espresso Shot ice cream made with activated charcoal.
Located in the London Selfridges Food Hall, guests will be able to order the ‘mochi pop’ emoji (three mochi spheres stacked on a stick) or take away a selection of mochi flavours in state of the art packaging that will keep the mochi frozen.
Hailed as the hottest food trend this year by Mintel1 and loved by Simon Cowell and Millie Mackintosh, Little Moons mochi are delicious premium ice cream spheres, wrapped in a sweet, soft mochi dough.
The pop-up will offer fifteen delicious flavours, rotated daily: Matcha, Coconut, Toasted Sesame, Raspberry, Mango, Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Hazelnut, Chestnut, Dulce De Leche and Banana, alongside three flavours exclusive to Selfridges.
Black Espresso Shot
Leave cups of coffee behind this summer and get a cool caffeine fix with the UK’s first black ice cream mochi. Each bite-sized sphere is made with raw activated charcoal made from coconut shells to give its unique colour and packed with espresso to keep caffeine lovers going throughout the day.
Yellow Yuzu & Elderflower
Created to match the Selfridges’ iconic yellow, this mochi combines yuzu lemon with a hint of elderflower, pairing a classic taste of British summer with this quintessentially Japanese citrus fruit.
The Earl Grey of Oxford Street
A sophisticated mochi, this pays tribute to the founder of Selfridges, also known as the ‘Earl of Oxford St.’ The Earl Grey mochi ice cream has lovely floral notes to delight the taste buds this summer.
Gluten free and less than 100 calories each, Little Moons mochi ice cream spheres are the perfect bite-sized treat this summer.
Little Moons founders, Vivien and Howard Wong say,
“We’re excited to have our ice cream mochi bar at Selfridges and give people the chance to eat the ‘mochi pop’ emoji as well as a range of fifteen innovative and delicious flavours. Exclusive to Selfridges, we’ve also decided to offer coffee lovers a different way to get their caffeine hit with espresso packed into a delicious mochi sphere of black charcoal ice cream.
“Charcoal is very much on trend at the moment and we hope that people will ditch the hot cup of coffee and give our Black Espresso Shot mochi a try to stay cool this summer.”
Little Moons ice cream mochi bar will be at the Food Hall, Selfridges & Co, 400 Oxford Street, W1A 1AB between Monday, 17th July – Sunday, 10th September 2017.
