James Harknett Celebrity Tan Tips

James Harknett, Global Creative Consultant at Fake Bake gives you his top tips for getting a fauxglow like your favourite A-Listers.

Gigi Hadid – Gigi knows how’s to show off her assets at all times. She loves to accentuate the natural contours of her body with an LA golden glow that looks flawless in colour and black and white. To replicate this urban tan with a dewy finish you need to start with a base colour. If the Ibiza colour is starting to fade then reach for a lightweight lotion. The new Fake Bake Flawless Coconut Serum (£29.95, www.fakebake.co.uk) is fast and easy for accurate application. Use a tanning mitt spread evenly over the body. Once developed team the tan with spritz of body oil to enhance the décolletage and collar also keeps the tan hydrated.

Michelle Keegan – Even with her new blonde locks she always manages to pull off the dark tan all year round. The trick here is to choose a dark finish for the body, but custom blend for the face. An over tanned face is a giveaway. He – Shi Express Tanning Liquid (£19.99, Superdrug) leaves a dark matte finish on the body. Mix one small pump with your facial moisturiser and disperse gently over the face. For fairer complexions I recommend applying just below the hairline and blending with your daily moisturiser. To finish use a bronzer brush and apply Fake Bake Scream & Pout Bronzer (£20.00, www.fakebake.co.uk ) for a luxurious silky effect.

Emma Willis – Emma is the perfect example of a pale skin that benefits from a subtle glow. Emma’s skin benefits from a muted glow that looks radiant on our HD Screens. On freshly exfoliated skin apply an even layer of Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Body Lotion (£6.99, Boots). Go easy around wrists and ankles for a natural blend. Keep the colour locked in the skin for longer by hydrating the skin daily with Vaseline’s Spray On Moisturiser in Aloe Vera (£5.99, Boots).
