Looking for some festive baking inspiration? This month we’ve been baking these cute Christmas cupcakes and they couldn’t be quicker or easier to make! You can find links to the recipes below if you’d like to try them out!

Santa Hat Strawberry Christmas Cupcakes

These Santa hat cupcakes are so easy to make and take little to no time. Perfect if you want a quick festive activity to keep the little ones amused in the run-up to Christmas. Simply find a basic vanilla cupcake recipe (I used this one) and leave your cupcakes to cool fully.

Once they have cooled you can begin to decorate. Add a whole fresh strawberry on top of the cupcake and pipe some white buttercream around the outside to create a fluffy looking hat. Then add a little bit on top of the strawberry to create the bobble! You can probably make yours look far neater than my attempts so tag me over on Instagram if you make these yourselves.

Candy Cane Christmas Cupcakes

I used the same cupcake recipe from above and piped cream cheese frosting on top once the cakes were fully cooled. I found these adorable mini candy canes in Home Bargains and added them at a slight angle.

To finish, I topped with these little edible toppers from Asda for a delicate festive touch. I opted for presents, penguins and polar bears but you could choose whatever toppers you want or leave them with just the candy canes.

Toffee Apple Cupcakes

These took slightly longer to make than the previous two but they are definitely worth the time! I used this Zoella recipe for the cupcakes themselves and topped with a cream cheese frosting and cute little gingerbread toppers (also from Asda)

They taste deliciously warming and are perfect with a mug of cocoa on a chilly day. The flavour isn’t too overpowering or sickly sweet either so if you didn’t frost them they would be lovely as a breakfast muffin.

lavender kitchenaid

I used my trusty KitchenAid from this post to make mine which was kindly gifted by the AO.com team last year and it’s still my favourite kitchen gadget ever! It would definitely make an absolutely amazing Christmas gift for someone special!

What are your favourite Christmas cupcakes to make? Be sure to let me know! I’ve also been making some yummy chocolate cookies recently so I’ll try and upload a feature on these soon. Sending Christmas wishes your way and all the best for a happier and healthier 2021! (it can’t be much worse than this year can it?)
