Spring means warmer weather and longer days. We are currently having renovation work done to our house and I can’t wait to make everything look more homely. Here are some of the top trends you might want to consider when accessorising your home for spring.

Pastel colours – pastel colours are perfect for spring. Homeware stores always tend to start releasing products in these colours around Easter. Using pastel colours around the home is a great way to add colour without being too bold or daring. Muted pinks and soft yellows are definitely on-trend right now. I have picked up some stunning pastel pink vases in high-street stores. It is always worth checking your local charity shops too. Sometimes you can find some absolute bargains on glassware and ceramics.

Cushions and throws – cushions and throws are a great way of adding colour and texture to a room. If you are changing your home decor for spring, cushions are the perfect place to start. Cushion printing from Countryside Art makes for a great way to transform a room and adds a visually stunning new layer to your sofas and chairs that you may not have envisioned.

You could choose a simple cushion with a pastel tone, or look for something with texture to add depth to the room. Velvet cushions, frills and lace are all great finishing touches that would look so pretty. When it comes to throws, you can pick up some really gorgeous soft designs. My favourites are the ones adorned with sweet pom-pom edging!

Faux plants and flowers – faux plants and flower arrangements are perfect for those who might struggle keeping real plants alive! You can find some beautiful vases of flowers in spring arrangements at at the moment. These look great on the mantelpiece or coffee table.

De-cluttering and styling – Sometimes all we need to get us motivated are a few simple spring cleaning tips and a bit of sunny weather. Try to de-clutter your bookshelves and any areas that are filled with too many items. Consider donating some of the things that no longer bring you joy. Often the minimalist approach can look simple, elegant and modern. Beautifully scented candles and reed diffusers will help your home look and smell lovely too!
