5 Simple but effective ways to create a garden oasis

With summer on its way, many of us are looking for simple and effective ways to create a stylish and relaxing garden space to enjoy during the warmer months. Below we’ve put together five quick tips to help your garden take shape in time for BBQ’s and outdoor celebrations.

Garden furniture

With the current pandemic situation, garden furniture prices have soared and availability seems to be at an all time low. Creating a garden space that has seating and space to enjoy a glass of wine and a meal with friends and family can make all the difference though and is still possible even during these trying times. My top tips are to venture out to charity shops or car boot sales (social distance and covid regulations permitting) to track down a bargain. Failing that, some of the lesser known garden centres in your local area usually have a good supply of wooden benches available. We picked up three benches and found a matching (ish) table on Amazon to complete the look. I’ll be showing our garden on my Instagram stories @lifestylelinked soon so make sure you are following!

Artificial plants

Believe it or not, you can actually purchase artificial plants for your garden that last through the seasons and better yet, don’t require any maintenance. If you are not green fingered but still want to breathe some life and colour into your garden then these are the perfect option. These artificial boxwood spiral trees would look amazing placed either side of your doorway to create a dramatic and stylish look.

purple window box

If you have a sleek and modern vibe to your garden, or perhaps a scandi feel then the gorgeous dark and dramatic tones of this purple rain window box would add just the right amount of colour and texture to any garden. It both looks and feels realistic and your guests would be hard pressed to tell the difference between this and real flowers! Grow your own

If you are in fact green fingered and enjoy gardening then why not create a serene garden area for fresh flowers. I’m obsessed with lavender since our visit to some local Somerset lavender fields. Lavender will fill your garden with beautiful scents during the hot summer months and planting an array of herbs and home grown veg doesn’t have to take up vast amounts of space. Try creating a small area of raised beds or freestanding planters to start with and see how you get on.

luxury greenhouse

The luxurious greenhouse of your dreams

If you are really looking to add the ‘wow-factor’ and have the space and the money to invest, a luxury greenhouse will add a chic and sophisticated statement piece to your garden. Grow your plants and veg in true style with this gorgeous design from Hartley Botanic. With Glasshouses and Greenhouses providing a beautiful, undercover al fresco space, and the capacity to grow a huge variety of vegetables and fruit, it is not surprising many of us are dreaming of a Greenhouse as summer approaches.

Historic Glasshouse and Greenhouse manufacturer Hartley Botanic has experienced a 35 percent increase in customers citing ‘growing their own’ as the primary reason they want to invest in a Glasshouse or Greenhouse since lockdown, with customers saying they ‘never want to be caught out like this again.’ Visit: www.hartley-botanic.co.uk for more information and to find your perfect design.

Hopefully this feature has inspired you to start making some changes and updates to your own garden? Let us know how you get on!
